3 tbsp bicarbonate of soda baking soda US

2 tbsp arrowroot powder or cornstarch


1 teaspoon ascorbic acid aka vitamin C powder
1 tablespoon kaolin clay optional
2 tbsp/30 g/ 1 oz. cocoa butter
3 tbsp/45 g/1.5 oz. shea butter
1/2 tablespoon glycerin optional
2-6 drops of your favourite essential oils, some recommended: lavender, geranium. lemon or
grapefruit essential oils
In a bowl mix the dry ingredients of bicarbonate soda, arrowroot/cornstarch, clay and ascorbic acid
and set aside.
Melt the shea butter and cocoa butter at a reduced heat in your microwave or in a double boiler on
the stove. Heat until completely melted. Take off heat and add essential oils and stir well.
Pour the liquid mixture into your dry mix of arrowroot powder and baking soda. Mix thoroughly
and decant into containers of your choice.
To use: it should be applied to damp skin, not after shaving and only using the smallest amount,
more is not better for this little baby.
UPDATE: Apparently some vitamin C turns orange eek! Use a teeny tiney pinch of citric acid
instead.
