1.3 Solution
This document outlines a proposal and project plan for developing a flexible
educational courseware product for use in both offline and online broadband
environments.
This courseware will be designed as a transferable solution i.e. can be easily
used by program implementers in various different emerging markets, without
large scale customization. Although initially delivered as an offline CD solution,
it will be designed in a standard Web component model to allow for future
enhancements and features. It will serve to establish the company brand in the
minds of these parties, relevant to their local connectivity and geographical
challenges and their respective end users informational and service
requirements.
To ensure a seamless transition from offline to online broadband deployments,
the solution will initially be developed as an online portal. This online portal will
be saved to CD for offline deployments.
Using interactive educational content, the purpose of this application is to
showcase the key features of the new Google smartphone. These features
include:
Accelerometer
3
Network Group Task
Touch Screen
Webcam
The games will use mathematical content (fractions, percentages and decimals)
as the main gameplay element.

be primarily be used in a classroom environment with a teacher present.
It is designed to be of most benefit to small groups of mixed ability
1.7 Audience for this Document
This document is intended for all parties involved in the product design
specification. It will be updated after each review and development cycle. To
ensure version and feature control, all design requirements and updates need to
be included in this document.
1.8 Change Request Process
Minor changes within scope can be approved by the Project Manager.
Major change process
Any change affecting an external sub-contractor would need to be
reviewed with that contractor who would agree any necessary contract
revisions or payments etc.
Changes of scope and contract revisions would require the approval of the
Steering Committee (or it might have been a Change Control Board).
2. Product (app) Overview
2.1 Application Concept
Edu App is a set of educational games and sites using mathematical content to
showcase the main features of the Google Nexus phone. The application will
consist of a core game (snakes and ladders) and a set of 4 mini games that will
showcase the phone features.
The current game design is for multiplayer only .i.e. 3 players are needed to
start a game. (to be clarified)
Main Applicatoin:
The main game is based on the classic mobile game Snake. A user roles a dice
and progress on the map, based on their dice number. To add variety and
educational content to the game, a user will be asked fraction questions,
depending on where they land.
2.2 Application Type
This application combines puzzle and quiz elements with the classic mobile
game. The puzzle and quiz elements will use mathematical content (fractions,
percentages and decimals).
