Consuming, As someone who rots forte underdog, have a particular afin for students who require extra help in cass. | want
to do everyting canto support these students, but there just doesnt seem to be enough time in a Gay todo co. | want tobe able
to cutvate some time management skis, or strategies that wil help me develop the ably to provide the suppor needed fr these
students. AS student teachers, we are told to adapt and modiy our lessons so as to cater to over individual eamerin the
classroom. This isan overwhelming concept. and | would ove to sin a classroom where this is achlovod.
‘Competency 11: Education is a passion of mine and I do spent quit @ bit of time reading articles and watching videos related tothe
fied. In addition, many of my friends and family are involved in education, so many of my conversations outside of te classroom
‘are about education, To this regard, | do exhibit a desire for professional development. Nevertheless, when the opportunity for
professional development arises at schoo), itis not mandatary, | wil not attend the workshop, or the seminar. | would ke to
dovelop a stronger affinity towards professional development opportunites presented through the Schoal/ school Doar
Twill make use of the following strategies for improvement
‘Continuing to collaborate with other teachers will be a good way to amass strategies to support students with
‘special needs. Speaking with resource teachers will also help. Furthermore, developing a stronger relationship
‘with my mother will also help, given her experience as a special needs consultant for the school board. Indeed,
| believe she has many valuable resources and techniques that could benefit me in my teaching career.
Regarding professional development, | need to be more disciplined and treat such opportunities more seriously.
| recognize the dangers of falling into a comfort zone and being stuck in my own ways. Although such a state of
mind can be comfortable, in the long run, boredom will Inevitably set in and i will fall back in terms of current
{teaching practices. Thus learning new approaches, perspectives, and ideas will keep me on my toes as an
/educator and in touch with modern day education trends.
