RE: Charmagne S Duque

To whom it may concern:

Ive known Charmagne as a Clinical Assistant for the past 8 years through our
work at Dr. Gabriela Ortiz-Omphroys family practice clinic. Ive been an RN for
over 50 years and presently work as an officer manager but occasionally still
provide patient care.
Over my career, the culture and focus of nursing has evolved calling on our ranks
to take upon leadership roles and advocate for our patients. There was a time
when one would simply never question a medical doctors plan of care. Now, we
are colleagues working with our fellow healthcare professionals towards the best
outcomes for our patients. One thing that has not changed is the character that is
necessary to be a successful nurse. In Charmagne I see the characteristics of a
great nurse.
She is a hard worker -- often pitching in when we are overrun with work. She has
excellent communication skills -- performing her duties to interview patients and
take their vital signs in an efficient and careful manner. She displays a natural
curiosity. Ill often find her reading up on medications that our patient are taking to
better understand their pharmacology. She asks questions of myself and Dr.
Ortiz-Omphroy about treatments we are administering to patients. She is
competent and careful with medical procedures she performs such as: ECG,
spirometry, injections, patient education, and assistance in minor surgeries. Shes
able to keep cool during those very busy days when we get slammed.
In conclusion, our profession would be strengthened by adding Charmagne to
our ranks. She will be a strong leader in our nursing community and a strong
advocate for her patients. Ive always been impressed with her work ethic and her
capacity to learn. It has been a pleasure to work with her.

Sincerely,

Norma Bolosan, RN
