Love or Hate (a Short Poem)

Hate is Hate
History seems to govern the masses
Step by step Breath by breath
Looking, Judging, Mocking
All thoughts who go against
The unspoken rule

Love is Love
When humanity looks to the future
Finding, and accepting
Those who seek their own path

Hate is Hate
Yet when one breaks from the herd
All become aroused and disturbed
The transgressor
...The victim
is assaulted
striped of what humanity they once shared.
Only to become alien...
...by the ones who refuse to understand

Love is Love
when people are accepting of others
for who they are...
...For the choices they have made
Regardless who they are
To be accepted by everyone
...To be rejected
Hate and Love

Love or Hate
So far apart from what they are
Yet only are the ones who can see
The past the rift that is created
Only then can they understand the full picture
