The Door Scene

Team Names:

Work with your production team to interpret and shoot the following scenario:
There will be groups of 4 of your choosing.

Challenge: Shoot the following scene, creating suspense


A person is walking. They see their shoe is untied, so they kneel down and begin tying it.
The person hears a strange voice while tying their shoe and become mildly concerned.
Something begins watching them from a distance. The person then walks to a nearby
door to open it. It is locked. They hear the voice again. The monster is getting closer.
While taking out their keys, they hear the sound become louder. They drop their keys.
The person hears the voice again. Its becoming louder so they begin to panic. They
struggle to open the door. The monster is getting closer and closer. [As the filmmaker,
your goal is to build tension and growing panic, using any visual element or device that you
can think of, as well as sound effects and music.]
The film closes with the person finally opening the door and getting to the other side
safely.
[Here you want to communicate to the audience the characters feeling of relief and safety.]
BE AS CREATIVE AS YOU CAN!

Parameters/Limitations:

The character and audience NEVER sees the source of the voice. Use POV shots to show
the monster is getting closer.
The video can have only ONE actor.
The video must be AT LEAST ONE MINUTE.
You MUST CREATE A SHOT LIST that is approved by Mr. Boberg BEFORE shooting.
You must use AT LEAST 10 DIFFERENT SHOTS to tell your story.
NO Dialogue
You must create a voice over for the sound of the monster.
You must be done shooting by MONDAY, DECEMBER 12. You may edit during your
assigned Finals Day if you need to.
Each group only needs ONE video. In order to turn it in before your FINALS DAY, Mr.
Boberg must see it before exporting.
