Honor Flight Inspection

For first year cadets, Honor Flight is important because it is the first inspection that Major Heim
is doing to see how each flight has progressed and have learned how to properly wear the
uniform. Make sure to know your the names of all your ribbons and what each part of your
uniform is/what it is for. Make sure to know your knowledge; school knowledge, Air Force
knowledge, etc.. Also make sure to shine your shoes, iron your uniform, and get your haircut if
youre out of the grooming standards!! If your flight wins Honor Flight you will receive an
Outstanding Flight Ribbon.

Corps Interviews

Corps Commander - C/COL Pisiak

I believe that the corps has been doing exceptionally well so far. Although, it can improve with
greater communication and future planning.

Director of Operations - C/ MAJ Berkey

I believe that the flights are progressing amazingly. First year cadets are learning basic
marching skills, while returning cadets are reviewing and helping them learn. All of the flights
are fantastic and I cant wait to see where they end up towards the end of the year.

First Sergeant - C/ 1SGT Britt

As First Sergeant, my responsibility is to ensure that all of the enlisted cadets in AZ-941 are
doing okay in the corp, and that if they have any problems that Im there to help them resolve
their situation. What I do is important because I can be the person that cadets can come to if they
really need someone to help them with a problem within the corp. As First Sergeant I plan to
bring the enlisted cadets and the rest of the corp closer together and really just try to make sure
that everyone in AZ-941 is having as much fun as possible in AFJROTC.

Drill Team Commander - C/ MSGT Evans

So far this year drill team has been on and off with attitudes. Some days of practice we do great
and other days we arent trying our best. This year I really want to see attitudes increase more
than last year. Drill Team isnt like any other class. Drill team sets a standard for not only the
corps, but also the U.S. Air Force. I honestly expect everyone to be a hard worker, a leader, and
the best they can possibly be. We wont just get the title of a winner, we have to work for it. I
know everyone can do it!

A Flight Commander - C/ MSGT Evans

A Flight has done quite well this year despite it being mostly first years. We really dont have
many problems other than uniform items being forgotten. They have a lot left to learn, but they
grasp knowledge quickly. I believe we will go far and do very well. Im proud of all of them and
have high expectations.

B Flight Commander - C/ MSGT Watts

I feel my flight still need to be respectful and listen. They need practice marching and to be able
to remember things such as PT, uniform wear day, hair cuts, and saluting officers.

C Flight Commander - C/ 2LT Jensen

C Flight is doing exceptionally well considering we all had a bumpy road at the beginning of
the year. Weve all grown as a family and respect one another. We work better as a unit now and

we have become exceptionally well at marching. There are some other minor details we can
work on and improve.

D Flight Commander - C/ 2LT Farquhar

My flight is doing amazing, though still needs work on following directions. The first year
cadets are doing extremely well and are learning quickly.

E Flight Commander - C/ MSGT Iaquinto

The flight is showing improvement among the first year cadets who are starting to understand
the routine. However, there are a few cadets who are failing to get haircuts.

Chicken Lombardi
I mean, chicken is pretty good. And so is cheese. And bacon. So why not put them all together?
- C/ 2LT Granio

Ingredients
6 slices whole grain bread, or any bread
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest
3/4 teaspoon salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs, beaten, possible restraining order

4 boneless skinless chicken breast

1/2 cup oil
Bacon
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
2. To make breadcrumbs: Trim the crust off the bread and discard, tear bread into
pieces. Spread bread out on a microwave-safe plate, and microwave on HIGH for 1
minute to dry out the bread. (Alternately, spread the bread out on a baking sheet and
dry in a preheated 300 degree F oven for 22 to 25 minutes.) Pulse the dried bread or
crumbs in a food processor with the thyme, lemon zest, 3/4 teaspoon salt, and pepper.
Or just use box bread crumbs, who cares.
3. With the flat side of a cook's knife or the smooth side of a meat-pounder, pound each
breast to equal thickness. Put the flour, eggs, and the bread crumbs each separately in
3 shallow dishes. Pat the chicken dry and season both sides with salt and pepper. Dip
each breast into the flour, then shake off the excess. Next, run the breast through the
egg to coat it lightly and hold the chicken over the liquid to let any excess fall back
into the bowl. Finally, lay the chicken in the breadcrumbs, turn it over and press it
into the breading to coat. Lay on a piece of waxed paper.
4. Heat a large skillet (12 inches in diameter) over medium heat. Add the oil. Lay 2
chicken breasts smooth-side down in the pan. Cook the chicken without turning until
beginning to brown, about 2 minutes. Turn the chicken and cook until equally brown
on the other side, about 2 minutes more. Repeat with the remaining 2 breasts.
Transfer chicken to a paper towel lined plate to drain. Place all 4 breasts on a rack
over a baking pan and bake until firm to the touch, about 6 to 8 minutes. Remove
from the oven and serve immediately.
