Embracing Time: A College Reflection

The poem discusses how time seems to move quickly through one's college years. As semesters end and deadlines approach, stress builds up from needing to balance social media, sleep, and grades. However, the speaker advises students to enjoy the present moment and not worry about the future, as before they know it their four years will be over and they will question how they persevered through the challenges.

Time Flies

By: Sarah Vinyard

They say time flies when youre having fun
But time moves too quickly, forced to run.
These years feel like a race youre bound to lose
Social like, sleep, or grades. You choose.

The stress builds up as the semester ends

Youd be lucky to get to sleep by ten.
But who remembers the nights they went to sleep?
Enjoy this time. Dive in deep.

Again, time flies. Your four years are up.

Youll look back and question how you didnt give up.
My advice is only worry about the current,
Take a deep breath and enjoy this moment.
