Pre- knowledge How to write a

hypothesis
Teacher passes out science
informational worksheet
Teacher announces main idea of the
day
Gravity
Teacher asks questions about last
weeks lesson
Briefly goes over magnets and
gravity 4th grade objective

I thought this was a good

way for students to read up
on the material before
answering questions

This was a good way to

keep students on task and
for students to see where
the information comes from
and to possibly use to
review later.

Teachers tell students to read

worksheet with partners and they will
go over the answers together. just
reading. No answering yet. 3 minutes

What is gravity tell me what it is

and where you found the answer in
the text.

Teacher walks around and makes

sure everyone is on task

What happens to objects that are
thrown in the air? student answers
and teacher asks them where they
found it and to underline it.
What is weight
Teacher tells students to flip page
over to other side and tells students
to read section one and two. And fill
in the answers.

Teacher walks around to make sure

everyone is on task and understands
what to do.

Students focus on hypothesis on the

back

*students seemed to enjoy

the activity and stayed on
task.

Teacher puts students in groups to

start experiment and goes over
instructions

Overall, it was interesting

seeing how the teacher fit
her lesson and activities in
the short allotted time for
science. It seemed rushed
but the students seemed to
grasp the concepts.

Experiment time: 10 minutes

Students are guided back to their

seats to begin interpreting their
