I had dreamed about becoming a vet ever

since childhood, but always assumed it would
be impossible for me to be accepted by a
veterinary college. p. 20

It is my childhood dream as well to become a

vet, although I never thought I could do it
because it is a had school to get into

Vet schools dont like out-of-state applicants; NC State is in-state for me so its nice that I
they have enough problems fitting in their
should have some chance of getting in
own people. p.21
Id been so quickly discouraged by reports of People have told me that vet school is going
how demanding and competitive vet school
to be hard to get into and that I should
was. p.23
probably go into something else
I was going to quit listening to everyone else
and follow my heart. p.24

I am going to follow my dreams and not going

to listen to the people that discourage me

I had decided that I certainly wouldnt be

accepted the first time around. I had heard
stories of vet students only being accepted
after their third, fourth and even fifth
applications. p.32

I know vet school is going to be hard to get

into, but never realized it was this hard.
Hopefully if I make good grades and have a
lot of experience I will get in the first time
