I observed Mr. Jamisons fourth

grade lesson on comparing
twofractionswith
differentnumeratorsand
denominators. First he showed
them a short video on how the
comparisons would go before
during a quick review game on the
content of the video.
I observed Mr. Jamisons fourth
grade lesson on beginning the
process for long division. He
started with a really catchy video
outlining the song process. Then
they began practicing the process
on two digit equations.
I observed Mr. Jamisons fourth
grade lesson on introducing
remainders into the three digit
long division problems. He used a
remix of the song earlier this week
with an added verse about
remainders

I enjoyed the use of the instructional

video. I always use video in my lessons
because they usually stick with the
students and serve as short term memory
until the content is learned. His method is
similar to what I want to do in my math
class I like how he gains attentions and
has interactions.
I enjoyed observing the students finding
out how the division process works. They
began to gain a simple understanding of
how and why each number was divisible
by the others.

I liked how Mr. Jamison briefly activated

prior knowledge before proceeding on to
a new concept. The video itself was prior
knowledge and then the end added the
new knowledge for todays lesson
