Q: How much hay do cattle need in the winter ?


A: I feed about two to three rolls of hay per week
Q: How many cattle do you have on your farm ?
A: I have about sixty head of cattle on my farm

Q: Is there any specific ways to slaughter a beef cow ?

A: Yes when beef cattle are slaughtered they are either shot in the head or stunned and
then their jugular vein is cut then they are hung up to drain and cure for a week in a cooler.
Q: What times do you usually feed your cattle ?
A: I feed my cows at daylight and dusk everyday
Q: What types of cattle do you think is the best type for your beef cattle farming ?
A: I think that limousin and angus or scottish highland cattle have the best meat quality
Q: Have you ever had any serious diseases in your cattle?
A: Yes I have had blackleg in some of my cattle and they died with it. I vaccinate every
year and one still got the blackleg.
Q: Have any of your beef cattle ever had cancer?
A: Yes one of them did and I called the vet but she could not help her because she was
just too old to battle the cancer
Q: How long have you farmed beef cattle?
A: ever since I was about 18 years old
Q: What do you do with the beef from your cattle?
A: My family and I eat the meat and we use the hides and heads to mount them for people
to buy

Q: How many acres of land do your cattle graze on?


A: I have about 60 some acres of land all together that my cattle graze on.
