Spanish Courses

Spanish 1010:
This is a beginning Spanish course that assumes no prior knowledge or experience
with Spanish. The course uses a variety of language teaching approaches to help the
student work toward mastery of all four basic language skills: listening, speaking,
reading, and writing. The overall emphasis is on realistic situations that could prove
useful in a practical sense to the student. Since reading and writing can be practiced at
home, class time will be devoted mainly to listening and speaking activities

Spanish 1020:
This is a continuation of the knowledge learned in Spanish 1010 on elementary
grammar, vocabulary, reading, conversation, and Spanish Culture. Reading, writing,
listening, and speaking skills will be built on, and students activities will mainly be
devoted to listening and speaking.

Spanish 2010:
Spanish 2010 introduces students to intermediate grammar, reading,
and conversation. Its main focus will be on oral skills and Spanish culture,
and will teach students the importance of being able to speak well when in
Spanish cultures. Students are required to speak Spanish with the professor
and fellow classmates during class time.
Spanish 2020:

This class will build upon intermediate grammar, reading and conversation that
were learned in Spanish 2010. Students participation is required, and must answer/speak
in Spanish. The main focus of the class will be on reading and translation.
