Kennesaw State Universitys Center for Young Adult Addiction and Recovery (CYAAR) is working to raise
awareness of drug and alcohol recovery and extend its resources to the metro-Atlanta community.
In order to serve the community while gaining exposure for the center, students of the CYAAR will host a
Narcan certification event in conjunction with Atlanta Harm Reduction Coalition where Atlanta residents
can get familiar with and possession of the life-saving overdose-reversing drug. The CYAAR should invite
Georgia Attorney General and recovery advocate Sam Olens to speak about the problems with opiate
addiction in the Atlanta, in addition to a speech by CYAAR Director and President of the Association of
Recovery in Higher Education Theresa Johnston about the center and its efforts to facilitate a safe space
for young adults in recovery or seeking recovery. This event should be pitched to the media.
