Office of Career Services

I attended an event hosted by the Office of Career Service, this event was a
Graduate Information Session facilitated by a representative from Prairie View A&M
University (PVAMU). This session provided information about the university, the
application process, financial aid, required test requirements, and the different
departments.
Prairie View A&M University is an HBCU located in Prairie View, Texas. During
the information session I learned about graduate programs that are available at
PVAMU. There are about 32 graduate programs ranging from Agriculture & Human
Sciences, Arts & Sciences, Business, Education, Engineering, Juvenile Justice &
Psychology, Nursing, and Architecture.

PVAMU has several important requirements:

Completion of online application
$50 non-refundable fee.
B.S. or M.S. degree from an accredited college or university.
Official transcript(s) of all college work (undergraduate and graduate) from every college
previously attended.
A minimum undergraduate cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.75 on a 4.00 grading
scale for regular graduate degree status.
Three letters of recommendation
Official scores on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).

Overall, it was a very informative session, I learned about PVAMU and their graduate
departments for potentially furthering my education, and I also learned that PVAMU is
the 3rd to produce the most African American engineers. (NCAT is the top!)
