—_—_—_— Abualeinan! Zina Abualeinan Professor Raymond UWRT 1104-004 10/16/16 Palestine The beautiful country of Palestine is where my grandparents and their ancestors came from. I have never visited the country because it is currently under Israeli occupation, it is very difficult to enter but as a United States citizen it would be very easy for me and my family to enter but it would be difficult as well and it would be nearly impossible to become a citizen of Palestine because of it being under occupation. Sharif Hussein designed the current flag as the flag of the Arab Revolt on June, 1916. The beautiful flag is red, black, white, and green. It has a red triangle to the left of it pointing to the right, with black, white, and green strips. The proud Palestinian people raised it as the flag of the Arab National movement in 1917 to symbolize peace. In 1947, the ‘Arab Ba'ath Party defined the flag as a symbol of the liberation and unity of the Arab nation, Palestine. The Palestinian people readopted the flag at the Palestinian conference in Gaza in 1948 by simply changing the order of the colors, The flag was recognized by the Arab League as the flag of the Palestinian “x people and it differed itself from the flag of the Israeli people (Horvath). The national anthem of Palestine was created in 1972, in advance of their 1988 declaration of independence. The anthem is called “Revolutionary” or sometimes also called “Anthem of the Palestinian Revolution”, or “The Rebel Boy”. The anthem was written and is sung in Arabic but the English translation oft is “My country, my country, my country, my Abualeinan2 Jand, land of my ancestors Revolutionary, revolutionary; Revolutionary, my people, people of Perpetuity; With my determination, my fire and the volcano of my revenge; With the longing in my blood for my land and my home; I have climbed the mountains and fought the wars I have ‘conquered the impossible, and crossed the frontiers With the resolve of the winds and the fire of the guns; And the determination of my nation in the land of struggle; Palestine is my home, Palestine is my fire; ,Palestine is my revenge and the land of endurance; By the oath under the shade of the flag; By my land and nation, and the fire of pain; I will live as a revolutionary*, 1 will remain a revolutionary; I will end as a revolutionary - until my country returns; : OC Bloshnian National Anita"), Revolutionary (World Heritage Pneychopedaae Tris a very inspiring anthem and very sad to hear, to me itis like hearing the hope and pain of the Palestinian people. I love its inspiration for hope and freedom so much; I hope I can visit it soon with my family as a free country, geod boring ~ You AAe 20 paadionate abinet Yuurd huchage, which is a wondugul addi ory ty yw wre. 3 Sources were Needed, ysu used two.
