Career Fair
Today I attended the career fair, just to explore the opportunities. I am
not really pressed on internships because Im confident in my ability to
attract a job . Even though I had my first internship last year, I still know that
God will always put me in the situation that propels my success and
character. I do hope to get this internship opportunity with Google next year
though, that would be extremely great opportunity, especially because I
would do everything possible to acquire a full time position as a Product
manager or Digital Marketer. From personal observation, the career fair
reminded me of zombies and robots. Since we have been in school I feel
that were instructed in the wrong way, the system teaches us how to work
for a boss(9-5), not to be a boss. Im not condemning anyone who has a boss
or wants a 9-5. Personally I just know thats not my calling for life, and there
is more to life than what they show us. Each day I focus on improving my self
awareness as well as my knowledge. I do not let school stop me from
learning. In conclusion, the career fair can be beneficial for some, but for
most its not. Students are not taught how to approach a career fair, they are
not taught what questions to ask employers and majority of things that can
advance a student in achieving their goals and dreams. For myself, luckily I

have a mentor who discusses these things with me. I understand that the
career fair is an opportunity and Im grateful for all opportunities, but I also
know that the career fair is only .5 percent of the work and if youre GPA isnt
a 4.0 and you have a plethora of accolades most companies arent going to
give serious interest
