Study Abroad Goals
On November 30th, 2016, I attended the Study Abroad in ACB at 3:00 pm. At this
meeting, I learned all about studying abroad and the type different types of study abroad
programs that North Carolina A&T University offers. At this school, you have to be at least a
sophomore to participate in any of the study abroad programs. To study abroad during the fall or
spring semester, the applicant must a minimum GPA of 2.75 at the time of application and at the
time of departure in order to participate in this program. If a student wants to study abroad during
their summer break, a minimum GPA of 2.5 is required during the application period and before
you departure as well. Some of the study abroad programs require at least a 3.0 in order to
participate. Money wise, you will still pay the same amount of tuition that you are currently
paying at NC A&T but application fees, room and board, and other fees depends on where you
go or the program. You can also receive scholarships to help you with the study abroad fees.
Entering the meeting, I had no intentions on studying abroad. But after I attended this
meeting, studying abroad is something that I might consider doing in the future. After seeing the
presentation, I became interested in how the education systems in other countries operate.
Personally, I would like to travel to Africa and study their for a semester because I have always
wanted to travel to the Motherland. I have heard from multiple people that Africa is a very

beautiful place. I have also heard that some parts of Africa have great education systems with
high graduation rates.
