Density Lab

Conclusion Questions:
1. PVC gave me the highest deviation because my partner and I
miscalculated the mass the most off.
2. The slope of the lines on the graph relate to the denseness of
the substances by, the less steep, the less dense, and the more
steep, the denser.
3. If you cut a cube in half, the density will remain the same. The
density will remain the same because the mass and the volume
are the same, but are just halved. For example, if the mass was
30 and the volume was 10 in the beginning, and you cut the
cube in half, the mass would be 15 and the volume would be 5,
being the answer 3 both times.
4. None of my objects would float in water because their densities
are higher than 1.0 g/ml, which is the density of water.
5. You can change the density of a substance by changing the
temp. When you change the temp. Of a substance and the
pressure stays the same, the molecules start to move farther
apart. Another way you can change density is by pressure.
When you change the pressure of a substance, the molecules
start to move more packed together, rather than farther apart.
