Girls on the Run Chosen as 2016 Initiative
ATLANTA Girls on the Run has been chosen by FOX Sports Supports as a
national initiative for 2016. FOX Sports Supports mission is to give back to
the nonprofit community and raise awareness to valuable causes.
Every two years, FOX Sports Supports picks a number of organizations
to partner with. As a part of their partnership, they dedicate time, money
and resources to gain awareness and support for different nonprofit
organizations. Over the past seven years, they have supported 24 nonprofit
organizations that support different causes like education, military, health
awareness and human services.
FOX Sports Supports plans to host a national campaign titled, Support
Girls, Support the Future, which partners with Girls on the Runs mission of
increasing confidence and self-worth in elementary and middle school girls.
The campaign will travel across the nation to different Girls on the Run
communities with celebrity appearances along the way.
Girls on the Run is a program for 3rd-8th grade girls that is focused
on teaching and encouraging positive self-esteem, self-worth and overall
healthy lifestyles. Over 10-weeks, team members train for an end of season
5k, participate in community service and grow in confidence and create
lifelong friendships.
