Question 5. Quotes vs Paraphrasing vs Summarizing
Quotes- Is taking a persons saying on a piece of information and citing it straight
from the source by using quotation marks (). By doing this the reader can look at
this citation and go directly to the source so they know its reliable.
Paraphrasing- Looking at a long piece of information, paraphrasing makes it easier
to cut down the unimportant information so the writer can use only the information
needed to give specific and direct information to the reader. So entirely
paraphrasing is re-wording based of what we need to write from the given
information.
Summarizing- Instead of re-wording the information given, its best to look at the
main idea of the information provided. By doing this the reader can get the ideal of
main impression based off of a single paragraph instead of pages and pages of
unnecessary information to look at just to get the main idea of the information.
