EVALUATION

Chin-length hair, pursed lips, sunken eyes and dark circles underneath.

Moderate build, light complexion. Dressed in a jean jacket layered over a flannel.
OBSERVATIONS

BEHAVIORAL: Quiet and brooding. Indicates tendency toward solitary lifestyle,

skipping school often. Occasional bouts of intense emotion, grief over brothers
disappearance, crying around his verbally abusive father, as well as violent shouts to
release his anger. Facial expression often appears twisted in anguish.
INTELLECTUAL FUNCTIONING: Jonathan internally blames himself for his brother
Wills disappearance, convinced that if he hadnt picked up a shift at work he wouldve
been able to look after him. Jonathan is more rational than his mother, though,
reasonably identifying her state of denial and delusion.

PSYCHOLOGICAL
INTERPRETATION

SOCIAL FUNCTIONING: At school, Jonathan is called a stalker and a pervert and

bullied by Steve, who destroys his camera and photographs. Though reeling with
anger, Jonathan gathers his photos and endures Steves mockery. Already a social
outcast, he reveals a lack of interest in social relationships, at least with his teenage
peers. Instead, he prefers watching them from a distance, indicated by his stalking
Nancy to Steves party and hiding in the woods to capture inappropriate photos
through the bedroom window.
At home, Jonathan must act as the man of the house to support both his unstable

SUMMARY

mother, Joyce, and younger brother, Will. Considering this burden at home, his
unpopularity at school, lack of interest in social relationships, and affinity for solitude,

he is hesitant to begin new friendships at school. Quickly isolated, he feels very

sensitive to what others think of him, fighting feelings of inadequacy and fears of being
rejected or disliked by his peers.
DIAGNOSTIC
IMPRESSION(S)
