Southern Cabbage Rolls

Ingredients
1 Medium Head of Cabbage
2 Slices of Turkey Bacon
1 White Onion, Chopped

Cup of Olive Oil

Dash of Basil (or to taste)


Dash of Oregano (or to taste)
1 Teaspoon of Ground Black Pepper
Optional: Dill (a handful for garnishing)
Optional: Teaspoon of Sugar

Instructions:

1. Set a pot of water to boil over medium heat.


2. Peel off the first layer(s) of the cabbage and rinse the leaves to
remove dirt, etc. Then boil the head of cabbage for about 5 minutes,
or until the leaves are soft.

3. Chop the slices of turkey-bacon into thirds, then fry in Olive Oil for 5
minutes, or until crisp.
4. Remove 15 whole leaves from the boiled head of cabbage and set
aside.
5. Chop the remainder of the cabbage into shreds, as well as the carrots
and onion.
6. Combine the turkey-bacon, shredded cabbage, chopped carrots,
chopped onion, oregano, basil, and ground black pepper in the frying
pan and cook for 4 minutes.
7. Optional: sprinkle the sugar over the contents in the frying pan, then
mix.
8. Add a little less than a palm full of the cooked mixture to each of the
15 leaves and roll each one carefully.
9. Fry the rolls until slightly browned. Add dill to finished product as a
garnish (optional).
