Terrell High School priority goals:

1) Increase student achievement in all areas including academics,


extracurricular, and character
2) Build a college and career culture throughout the district that promotes
critical, creative, progressive and innovative thinking.
3) Build capacity in all district employees by recruiting, retaining, and training
fully certified and highly qualified principals, teachers, and staff.
4) Become a district of choice in Kaufman County by improving student
programs and services.

Goal: Students will access technology on a daily basis


Area(s) of work: Teaching and Learning
Analysis: This aligns with Goals 1, 2, and 4. By students having access to
technology on a daily basis they are able to increase achievement by digging
deeper into the curriculum to create products that promote critical thinking.
This will move THS to become a high school of choice in Kaufman County.
Objective: Increase technology skills acquired as defined by the TEKS to
enhance learning

Priority Goal #2

Goal: Ensure that all faculty and staff are skilled to effectively utilize
technology in the classroom
Area(s) of work: Educator Preparation and Development
Analysis: This goal aligns with Goals 3 and 4. By teachers being trained the
Technology Department is building teacher capacity to be highly competent

in the classroom in using technology. Once again this will help create THS as
being a high school of choice in Kaufman County.
Objective: Increase technology training throughout the school year for
professional staff to attain intermediate competency level.

Priority Goal #3

Goal: Acquire and access the necessary technological equipment and


supplies to meet program and staff needs.
Area(s) of work: Leadership, Administration and Instructional Support and
Infrastructure for Technology
Analysis: This aligns with all four THS priority goals. By setting aside ad
spending money on technology it will help with building teacher capacity with
technology which will increase student achievement which will lead to critical
thinking and ultimately lead to THS becoming a high school of choice in
Kaufman County. This goal addresses two areas of work: by dedicating the
funds (Leadership)it helps solve the infrastructure issue.
Objective: Increase the access for faculty, staff, and students of up-to-date
technology to support instruction and communication.
