INTRODUCTION.
1.original name was BAHAUDIN
2.belongs to ilbari tribe of turks
3.in the prime youth he was captured by MONGOLS who made him slave and sold
him to khawja jamaluddin basri of Baghdad later he was purchased by AL-TAMASH
with many other slaves
4.by his struggle firstly he was appointed KHASADAR(kings personal attendant)
5.KISHLO khan his younger brother was appointed lord chamberlain
6.SHER khan his cousin was appointed governor of Lahore and bhatinda
7.he married his daughter to sultan nasirudin mahmood
9.he remaind the prime minister from 1246 to 1266 during the whole reign of
sultan nasirudin and sultan from 1266 to 1286
10. nasirudin had no male issue and declared the BALBAN as his successor
11.he died in 1287 after a reign of about 22 years
