Read the above essay by Cathy Davidson in the New Humanities Reader p 47
(also see resources for pdf) and make notes on the following questions for
classroom discussion:

1. List the most confusing words in the passage. Look up each word in
your dictionary and reconsider its contextual implications within the
passage.

2. Underline the most confusing sentence. Write 6-10 observations


about this sentence in your notebook or on a separate sheet of
paper.
3. How does the first sentence relate to the last sentence?

4. What words are important and why? How does this passage work,
and why is it important?
