tier phone, however when it was their turn to enter the Socratic seminar circle, they provided the
discussion with meaningful matter. They then went back their desk and went on their phone. The
teacher then switched activities to the video, and the student actually watched the video. The
student is very introverted with their learning. I think they are shy, yet intelligent. In a constant
struggle to want to participate but too shy to say what is on their mind. So instead they stay on
their phone only participating when required.
Assignment Seven: I learned about how much work a teacher really does. However I got
to witness first hand the exciting world of teaching and all of its benefits. Everyone who works in
the field is there because they are passionate about giving back to the community by teaching. I
realized school culture is not much different even when you are not a student. Teachers still have
to deal with cliques, student interactions, homework, and school activities. It has better prepared
me by getting to watch what a teacher does without being a student. I got to see how to take
control of a classroom, as well as structure a friendly learning environment. It relates to the text
because immediately I tried to understand the teachers philosophy. I will remember to include
the microphone when teaching. It made instruction clear, and gave the teacher the loudest voice
in the room.
