The document I found was an eye-catching takeout menu for Toppers

Pizza. I chose this item because right off the bat I noticed an intense span of
visual literacy. Alongside lists of menu items, there are high quality pictures
to show you what the products are. The menu is full of colors and pictures
that generate feelings about the company and its products.
On the front page, the logo is presented in bold colors at the top of the
page. This establishes the company and sets an expectation for the
presentation of the menu. Underneath that is a motto, Anyone can order
from the big guys but youre not just anyone. This is presented in a format
that makes the reader feel empowered. Next, there is a photo of an
employee holding a delivery pizza box. His facial expression is large and
excited. This is a marketing tactic used to try and transfer emotions to a
consumer about a good or service. All these items make up a strong visual
literacy presence on the cover of the menu.
Inside the menu there are lists of menu items and prices. Categories
are bolded and in red, this establishes a break in groups of products. Due to

this, the menu is easier to navigate. Along with this, there are some images
beside popular products. Adding pictures creates attraction to those products
and can generate a sense of hunger. Plus, there are pictures of employees
spread out along the inside flaps. All the employees are showing some action
that shows they are excited about the job and the products.
The document uses visual imagery to convey a message that they
have good products and you should be excited about them. I can use my
knowledge to understand that they are a pizza company that target a
younger audience. The entire menu is uniform and there arent many empty
spaces. This makes is pleasing to the eye and it generates a desire for their
products.
