Locate, compare and order integers and rational

numbers using a number line.
The students will be able to arrange place value using
placement as it relates to the identification of rational
numbers on a number line with a 75 % accuracy.
(Words also included: Hundredths, Tenths, Numerator,
Denominator, Positive, Negatives and whole numbers)
The students will be able to illustrate the placement of
numbers depending on their value. Students will able
to listen to the teacher on how placement factors into
the sequence of numbers.

The students are reading and creating concept maps.

The teacher will design a concept map where students

will breakdown different meanings of placement.
(VTW: Chapter 7 pg. 201)
The teacher will first have the students read about what
a concept map is and then provide simpler examples to
showcase how their maps should read for placement.
The students will then begin work on their own concept
maps branching off the word placement with such
vocabulary as place value, negative, positive, and any
other words that can be associated with placement.
These maps will be used as a resource as the students
are given worksheets that contain lists of rational
numbers and integers that they are to place on a
number line.
