Landing of the Thimble

The thimble, once selected after looking into the prevailing conditions should be kept in
a protected/safe area. Pre-weighed thimble should be loaded into the filter holder for
particulate sampling.
Follow the following steps to load the thimble:

Open the thimble holder by unscrewing the front end

Keep the filter casing down. Hold the front end in your left hand
Unscrew the screw mounted on the U shaped clamp to made sufficient space for
thimble.
Put the thimble (open end) on the conical surface (large one is for cellulose thimble
and the smaller one is for glass microfibre thimble) such that axis of both of them
coincides.
Slip the thimble slightly inwards.
Tighten the screw keeping the thimble straight.
Keep on tightening, till the edge of the thimble strikers against back surface.
Be careful about the tightening. Overtightening will spoil the thimble while
undertightening will give way to leakages. The filter casing can now be screwed on
to the front end.
