Dr. Nagaraj earned a Masters degree in Aeronautics from


IIS, Bangalore and Ph.D. in Aeronautics from Loughborough
University of Technology, England. He worked at Hindustan
Aeronautics, Bangalore, India for over 35 years. After
retirement, he joined at the Alfred Gessow Rotorcraft
Center, University of Maryland in July 1997. Along with
Professors Inderjit Chopra and Marat Tishchenko, he has
advised graduate students in Helicopter Design. From 1998,
the student teams have be awarded the first place in most of
the Student Design Competitions organized by the American
Helicopter Society. He is a Fellow of the Aeronautical Society
of India and is an Associate Editor of the American Helicopter
Society.
