Writing Prompt #1
My earliest memory of me learning my reading narrative would be just me reading in my
free time at school. My school when I was elementary school would have this program called
Accelerated Reader. So the way that the program would work is that you would read any book
from the library and you would go take a test on it asking questions about the book and the more
you read the more points you would get and with those points you get rewards and stuff. All of
my English Teachers from elementary school to this present day have helped me gain and expand
my vocabulary and literacy narrative. Starting from learning the alphabet in pre-school to
rhetorical analysis in AP Language and Composition all helped build me to the person I am
today. Books such as the Harry Potter series and the Series of the Unfortunate Events all were
influential books in my childhood. One of the memories that I remember from my childhood is
that I use to read in the bathtub because I always thought it was a place of peace and serenity nad
no one would bother you in the bathroom. However, my mom would eventually get so mad that
she would get the bathroom key and yell at me to get out because I was using the bathroom for
so long. As a child to now, I have always found the ability of reading comprehension and
understanding words difficult because both of my parents were not native speakers. Therefore it
mad to hard for me to find support if I was having trouble understanding words or grammatical
rules. I only have one older brother as a sibling so our reading abilities were not that far apart

although, I would sometimes look for him for guidance when looking for how to pronounce a
