The students will be able to respond to a teacher created blog.
The students will be able to post questions and respond to other student’s questions on the blog site.
The students will be able to research information about the blog topic.

The students will be graded on their blog question and responses.
The students will be observed on their participation.

Computer
List of teacher approved websites
Eraser
Pencil/Pen
Paper

Inclusion Techniques for Students with Special Needs:


Students with Special needs will have a paraprofessional available to assist. The student will be provided with any assistive
technology if needed.
The students will have a log in created before the lesson begins.
If additional time is required, the students may have extra time during study hall or recess to complete the assignment.

Enrichment Techniques:
Students may use additional time to add to their blog. Students may add details like graphics or text to their blog. Students may
also create additional questions to post or respond to more questions if they choose.

Lesson Differentiation (What modifications/accommodations will be made to ensure that ALL students have access to and are able
to participate in the lesson):
Students will be provided additional time to complete the assignment, if needed, during study hall or recess. Students will also be
provided assistance from the teacher or paraprofessional if he/she is having difficulty uploading the pictures.
Lesson Presentation
Introduction/Motivational Activities/Anticipatory Set:
The class will go to the computer lab. The teacher will show the students how to get to the blog site. The teacher will read the
blog question posted and show the students how to respond to a post. The teacher will ask the students to provide some
examples to answer the question.

Detailed Teaching Sequence:


(Provide sufficient detail that would enable a substitute to effectively present this lesson. Bulleted statements are preferred)
The students will be asked to use their log in to sign in to the computer.
The students will be asked to open Internet Explorer and go to the blog website.
The students will be able to open another internet tab to research the question.
The students will respond to the blog question and post it when they are done.
When they have posted their response, the students will begin writing a question to post.
The student will post their question on the blog website.
The next day the students will be provided time during class to respond to three of their peers questions.
The teacher will walk around, monitor, and assist students that need help.
When the students are finished they will save their work.
Students will log out of the computer when they are finished.
The class will walk back to the classroom together.

Guided Practice/Independent Practice/Assessment Activities


The students will be assessed on their spelling, grammar, and punctuation on the blog question and responses. Students will also
be assessed on the research they found and how they used it in their questions and responses, organization, and details of their
responses.

Closure:
Each student will be able to view all of the blog questions and responses. They may then respond to a peers response to their
blog questions.
