Directions: Fill in each part of the App Lesson with your own original ideas.

Please
look at the samples provided on Moodle. Provide 3 to 4 apps/steps for students to
complete along with a creative title, helpful description, and relevant SC teaching
standards. There must be one app per step.
Title: Shape It Off!
Relevant SC Standards:
7.GM.2 Construct triangles and special quadrilaterals using a variety of tools (e.g.,
freehand, ruler and protractor, technology.)
7.GM.4 Investigate the concept of circles.
7.GM.5 Write equations to solve problems involving the relationships between angles
formed by two intersecting lines, including supplementary, complementary, vertical,
and adjacent.
7.GM.6A Understand that the concept of area is applied to two-dimensional figures
such as triangles, quadrilaterals, and polygons.
Description: This app lesson will develop seventh-grade students geometry skills.
Instructional Objective: Students will be able to view a presentation on the different
polygons at their own pace through the use of technology. Students will also be able to
construct shapes when given the points, and construct the shapes of three objects found
within the classroom. Then, students will be able visually see angles through the use of
technology and be able to measure these angles. Lastly, students will put their
knowledge to the test with an interactive quiz.
Step 1: Students will view a presentation that I created on the topic of polygons and
constructions at their own pace through the use of the TES Teach with Blendspace app.

Step 2: Students will graph various shapes with given points that were shown within
the presentation. Students will construct lines and measure specific angels as well.

Additionally, students will freely create three different shapes that are found within the
classroom through the Geometry Pad app.

Step 3: Students will create the general polygons in order to visually understand the
concept of area through the use of the Geoboard App

Step 4: Students will take an interactive quiz that will cover the general properties of
the shapes they studied in order to clear up any misconceptions. This will be done
through the Nearpod app which allows for the class to participate on this quiz through
their individual device.
