WLED 405 23 November 2016 Language Teaching Philosophy Reflection My first philosophy focused on the aspect of the learner. Whereas, my second philosophy focused on the teaching aspect. In both philosophies, I mentioned that culture and language are one and the same. I think this shift in writing is indicative of the change I have made within my knowledge of teaching. At the time of the first philosophy, I had little knowledge of teaching strategies and experience. Although I have yet to learn more, I now have more than knowledge than I used to. Language teaching should be thought of as both stages combined. On one hand, teachers need to take into account the learning aspect. And on the other hand, teachers must know how to teach using new methods. I have really changed my way of thinking. Teaching has made me realize that I am not as flexible as I think I am. Teaching has taught me ways of being flexible, when I wasnt.
