OUR PROJECT

Good morning, everybody..My name is Fiorella Valencia, My partner is Maribel.


We are going to talk about the India. First Im going to talk about the characteristics of India, and
then my partner will explain their monuments and culture.
The India is a beautiful country, its located in South Asia (between Pakistan, China and Nepal), also is the
second most populous country in the world.
The flag of India is orange, white and green.
Bollywood: is the nickname used for the Hindi film industry, based in Bombay, Maharashtra, India, the
most populous city in India.
Is the country where more films are made, his main actors are: I have seen a lot of movies; these are very
interesting especially for their dances and songs. My favorite movie is dil bole hadippa.
Gastronomy: It is characterized by a great variety of herbs and spices, especially masala (curry) because
they love spicy foods. Their basic foods are made with rice and wheat. For example; Biryani it is prepared
with rice, meat, yogurt, spices and vegetables.
The roti is the basis of Indian food, it is necessary at all foods; and is used as a spoon. Falooda is one of
his favorite juices. BAATI, chapatti, they are similar to the bread.
Clothing: They wear long dresses called saris of different colors and the men wear a long tunica called
Dhoti or lungi.
Religion: In India originated the Buddhist and Islam religion, but their main gods are Vishnu, Shiva and
brahma.
Language: India has 21 official languages, but the most used are English and Hindi.
Monuments: Taj Mahal is one of the 7 Wonders of the World. The TAJ MAHAL, built from 1631-1654, is a
set of buildings located in Agra
The Palace of the Winds: It is a palace located in the city of Jaipur. The palace was built in the year 1799
by the Sawai Pratap Singh.
The Temple of Life: it is considered the most sacred temple, where one must peregrinate at least once in
life.
Activity: A very important activity now in the world is yoga because it provides control, balance and inner
peace. A way to live much better.
Representatives of India. Mhatma Gandhi, Representative of non-violence, father of the nation.
Teresa of Calcutta, Novel prize in peace.
Dance forms Indian dance too has diverse folk and classical forms. Among the well known folk dances
are the bhangra of Punjab, Bihu of Assam, and Odisi of Orissa.

Bharata natyam: The dance is performed by a single person and must be practiced since childhood.
Kathak: A very main classical dance from North India, means that a person tells a story.
Mohini attam: It means a seductive woman. It has special importance for its grace, fluidity, the simple
movements of the foot.
