Standard:
Social Studies Practices K 1 2 3 4 Chronological
Reasoning and Causation
Recognize periods of time, such as decades
and centuries.
Objective:
Students will be able to gather information
to create a timeline recognizing at least
five events that took place during the
period of time they are given.
Activities:
Students will work with a partner and be
assigned a decade throughout the 1900s
and have to make a timeline with their
partner to show at least five significant
events that happened during that period of
time. They will also have to explain why
they are significant events. We will be
using the computers for the students to
gather information as well as print pictures.
We will also have a share out of our
different decades to see how much time
has changed over time.
Students will be given a significant person
throughout history to research about.
These significant people will be through

different time periods throughout the

1900s. Students will have to identity at
least five significant events that took place
during that persons life and why they are
important. Students will then dress up as
that person and share the events they
have found to be significant in that persons
life.
