Space Exploration and Our Solar System: A Project!

1)
In your group, you will receive a topic to research and then
present to the class in a 5-minute PowerPoint presentation on
Thursday.
Use pictures and graphics to support your information. A
short video (1 minute or less) can be used as well.
Use at least 3 resources in your research; only one can be
Wikipedia.
Cite your sources using MLA format (use easybib on
Wellington site).
Email your presentations by Thursday 8 am:
mskrochenski@gmail.com.
2)
You will research a topic on what we know about a specific
part of our solar system.
You will present BOTH:
o what you learned about the celestial body (or bodies)
AND
o the technology used to explore it!
3)

Questions to guide your research and presentation:

What do we know about the celestial body/bodies?
o Composition, surface, temperature,
weather/atmosphere, axis and orbit
What technology has been used to explore these celestial
bodies?
o Probes, rovers, etc.

How has better technology helped increase our knowledge of

the celestial body? (if there have been multiple missions;
name them)
How long did the probes last and why? (if theyre not still
active)

How you will be graded: (out of 100 points)

1) Project and Presentation (70 points)
o Content and Accuracy (20)
