Reflection on Revision: Narrative Essay
The changes that I focused on the most was the MLA format since because, thats where
I got most of my points taken off. Also I changed the title of my essay from My 10th Grade Art
Class to From Lazy to Successful to make my essay more creative and to best represent the
story. I also added more sensory details about the smell of washed-up paint brushes and tubes.
Even though its not really revising but more towards editing, I reviewed my paper to check for
misspelled words and grammar issues on each paragraphs. When I was writing my narrative
essay, I had a lot of ideas swarming my brain. The topic about the narrative essay was about
what challenges you have overcome and I talked about my art class. I couldve chosen a different
topic to talk about what challenges I overcame but, the one I chose was the one that was simple
and easy to remember. I had challenges that I overcame that was recent but I remembered much
more back when I was in 10th grade.
I could of wrote about the time that I went running with my group of high school friends
in O'Melveny park. It was during my senior year in high school and we were planning to get fit
for enlisting with the Air Force. I could have wrote that time but it would sound a bit boring
about me running and training with my friends.
