This article explains the typical behavior of black males in public schools. Teachers have
to find what is holding the children back. After finding what is holding the students back, the
article also explains that teachers have to counter the environment and cultural influences which
lessen educational growth.

This journal entry explains when Teachers get to know about their student it helps the
student connect with lessons better. Building relationships with students is a key element is

the community evaluating the status of young black males in New Orleans. This journal research
finds that 800 out of 1,470 non-promotions in the 1st grade were Black males. This journal is best
