Paragraph #

Main Point of the

paragraph

How/ why it supports my

argument

1
(Thesis Statement)

There is no thesis statement

but, the main point appears
to introduce my topic of
domestic violence.

It supports the fact that I went

on to talk about domestic
violence, but i presented no
real argument.

It's not very clear what the

main point of this paragraph
is. I talk about celebrity
media outlets and a abusive
NFL player, Josh Brown.

Half of this paragraph ties

into the theme of domestic
violence but, that's about it.

The main point is based from

the Bureau of Justice
Statistics c omparison
between non domestic and
domestic offenses.

This is useless information.

Telling the story of Laura

Aceves, and how her ex
boyfriend murdered her.

Um, it ties into the domestic

violence topic.

This talks about the crime

rate Arkansas!

This is a little off topic, i think.

This paragraph is about

screening tests in Arkansas.
If screening test were taken,
the DV rates would most
likely decrease.

The last paragraph

incorporated the vocabulary
from the course readings

After doing this reverse outline it helped me realize how confused I was. This paper consisted of
a lot of facts and no direction. The main points of each paragraph was very hard to spot, I had to
really re read my paragraphs and see if i could come up with any main points.

Paragraph

1
(Thesis Statement)

Diets do not effectively work

How/ Why It Supports My

Argument

The different purposes,

conventions that these
authors have

With different conventions we

can see the purpose of the
author's articles

Introducing Aamodts
argument towards dieting

It supports the main

argument because Aamodt
claims that dieting, does not
work.

Introduces Rodriguezs
article

This paragraph supports the

main argument because
Rodriguez, stated her claims
that dieting is effective.

Aamodt proves that dieting

isn't effective

It supports the main

argument because this can
be arguable.

Comparing and contrasting

the two authors and their
arguments.

It compares the two

arguments!!

Determining the simlarities

and differences between the
two articles, and which type
of audience they each attact

Yes!

Who i agree with and why

This leads all the way back

up to my thesis statement in
the beginning
