To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Yesenia Jaime. Im 19 years old.
Im from Mxico, currently Im a student at Erwin high school and Im going to present my
Buncombe County senior project.
I propose kidney health as my research topic for english 4. I want to talk about kidney stones,
and how you prevent them. I had a personal experience with my brother in dialysis, but I want to
learn more. Also I want to write to keep kidneys healthy.
The prior knowledge and and experience I have in this area is with almost all the members of
my family including me. Two of my brothers, my dad, my sister and I, we all have a record of
kidney stones and just one of my brothers was in dialysis. My dad, he had kidney stones a few
years ago,he started with pain in his back but when the pain changed to the front it was so strong,
and the doctor told him, he had kidney stones, after that one of my brothers started to have
symptoms, his symptoms were pain in his back burning on urination, and the doctor detected that
he had kidney stones. He entered the operating room for surgery because the pain was too strong
and the kidney stones were already big and advanced. After one year I continued with pain in
front of my stomach in the right side down, the doctors thought it was something else but they
said that they needed to do some more exams and they make me some x rays and one ultrasound,
then they determined that I had kidney stones . When my brother was in dialysis he started with
different symptoms, First was nausea only in the morning, and he did not tolerate sweet food
sweet except for breakfast. Then he started with La Gota, or gout in english. Gout caused his
fingers and his feet to swell and fatigue, sleep, and urinate more than normal.
I want to help prevent other people from getting Kidney problems. I learned how to be healthy
and I want to share that information.
