Kim Lang Un* is visibly shaken as he lies strapped to his bed, writhing and

shuddering every once in a while. Found wandering aimlessly by an NGO, the

North Korean citizen was admitted to a Mental rehabilitation centre. For concerns
of privacy and safety, locations are withheld. This correspondent had a one on
one interview with the North Korean defector.
Hello Kim, this is Gareth Priebus. We gather from our sources that you
are a refugee. So, tell us about your life in North Korea and what made
you decide to defect?
Yes, that is true. I served as a naval officer in the Supreme Leaders regime,
ferrying food captured from Japan. As I saw more of the outside world, I became
enchanted by its deceptive lure and decided to desert my own country, our
Supreme Leader, our Shining Sun, revered deity Kim Jong Un. But thats a terrible
blunder thatll haunt me for the rest of my life.
What made the Outer World alluring and Why do you call that
deceptive?
Our Shining Sun, Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un bestowed on me an education, on
par with the imperialist pigs. He made me quite accomplished in their language.
This gave me opportunities to interact with the outside world. It almost always
seemed like everyone I spoke with was happier than me. They could eat as much
as they wanted to, didnt cry every day longing for the Supreme Leader and they
even laughed without the Master laughing first! I didnt know that it was the
Devils way of tempting me, I fell for the lie. I have come to realise the lie only
now, but its too late.
Why do you call that a lie?
