Intercultural Peer Mentor Program

Purpose:
The purpose of this program is to foster global connections between local and international
students in the College of Education in order to enrich their social and cultural experiences while
at TCU.
Program Details:
1. TCU students in the College of Education will volunteer to be paired with an incoming
international student
a. TCU student must share at least one class with the international student
b. TCU student will act as a liaison for the international student by helping them connect
with professors and other resources at TCU
c. TCU student will provide or help arrange rides to schools, events, etc.
d. TCU student will help enrich international students social and cultural experiences
by inviting them to events, showing them places around Fort Worth, introducing them
to more TCU students, having fun, etc.
2. TCU students and international students will be invited to attend monthly social
gatherings with other students in the program
3. All students in the program will be invited to a dinner at the end of the semester to
provide feedback on what worked and what needs improvement within the program
4. In order to participate in this program, TCU students must meet the following
requirements
a. Have at least one class with an international student
b. Have a desire to learn about new cultures
c. Be willing to meet new people and have fun
Benefits for TCU Students:
1. This program would be an excellent addition to a students CV/resume
2. Students will exit this program with international connections
3. Students will have the opportunity to learn about other cultures and expand their world
views
