Reflection

Todays class was only 24 minutes, so students only had enough time for sustained silent
reading
At the beginning of class, I tried to build rapport with students by asking them what book
they were reading today and why they liked it. If I had read it, I discussed the book
briefly with them.
Some students didnt remember to bring a book, so I told them to choose one off of one
of Mrs. Frechettes shelves. Some students wanted to just keep reading Boy, but I told
them they had to read a different book because this was for independent reading time. We
are trying to get them to increase the amount that they read, and part of that is reading
different kinds of texts.
