Major Assignment #3 Analysis
Major assignment #3 was the third large-scale and graded artifact that we were required
to create during this semester. This assignment required us to create our own Multimodal media
device that argued a point having to do with a media issue of some kind, whether that be a comic,
video, etc. After creating this multimodal media device, we had to explain all of different types
of multimodal media used in our device. I created a comic strip that talked about the bias of the
media in the 2016 presidential election.
The target audience of my comic was pretty much anyone over the age of 18 because that
is who should be most interested in politics and world events. The target audience of the actual
paper would probably be the reader of the comic or the grader of the paper, in this case that
would be Professor Kashtan. The target audience is usually the same when writing an essay, it
usually for the graders eyes only. I wrote the essay to explain myself and why I created the
comic strip, also to explain the ins and outs of the comic strip and its use of multimodal media.
I learned a lot about multimodal media from creating this artifact because of the fact that
I had to actually practice the use of multimodal media rather than just identifying it. I learned and
more from the first draft to the final draft because I did more and more research between writing
the two and got more practice. I also learned how much better an essay can be when you use a
peer editor to look over the artifact first.

This paper represents the peek of my writings, this was my best piece of writing from this
semester. I had already done two other major assignments and multiple smaller assignments in
between those so I knew what to expect and how to better priorities my workload. I also learned
from the other assignments that I needed to not only review my work myself but also have one of
my friends from class look over the artifact as well.
