This letter of reference is written for Mr. Kent Penigar. Working closely with Mr. Penigar during his social
work internship at the Eau Claire Job Center, I am especially aware of his genuine helpful attitude. Kent
demonstrates positive regard and empathy in assisting others and utilizes a strength based counseling
approach. Having co-facilitated numerous employment seminars and Job Club groups with Kent, I have
observed firsthand his engaging/enthusiastic presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
Kent displays an ongoing optimism in empowering and supporting individuals overcome barriers and achieve
their personal goals. He demonstrates excellent collaboration skills with partner agencies and has an
extensive knowledge base of community resources for individuals with various needs.
Kent has made a very positive difference at the Eau Claire Job Center assisting individuals successfully
transition to new employment and training opportunities. I highly recommend Mr. Penigar for a position of
high responsibility in the human services profession where his natural helping skills, extensive knowledge,
