INTRODUCTION

BLOOOD BRAIN BARRIER

The blood brain barrier is a highly selectively permeability barrier that are
separate the circulating blood from the brain extracellular fluid (BECF) in the
central nervous system (CNS) and is unique membranous barrier that tightly
segregate the brain from the circulating blood, the blood brain barrier acts
very effective to protect the brain from many bacterial infection and is
composed of the highly density cell restricting passage of substances from the
bloodstream more than endothelial cells in capillaries some where in the
body

The isolates from CNS general circulation of blood carries substances that
might be harmful to brain due to tight junctions between endothelial cell lining
capillaries of CNS, prevent diffusion of material between adjacent cells only
the lipid soluble compounds can diffuse across membrane into brain and
spinal cord, waste product and ions must pass through channels, the
restricted permeability depend on astrocyte, secrete chemicals and the control
of the permeability.

CEREBRODPINAL FLUID
Is an essential component of the nervous system .its serves as a cushion and
lubricant for the cerebral hemispheres, cerebellum and the layers of the
meninges. CSF pathology include leaks and fistulas are documented in a
variety of clinical situation, ranging from trauma to skull based surgery
including functional endoscopy
While the primary function of CSF is to cushion the brain within the
skull and serve as a shock absorber for the central nervous system, CSF also
circulates nutrients and chemicals filtered from the blood and removes waste
products from the brain
