In this paper, the degrdn. of decabromodiphenyl ether(BDE209) by Fe-?C-?H2O2 was
investigated. Influence factors, such as pH, quality ratio of Fe?/C, qualities
of Fe and H2O2 reaction time, on removal of BDE209 were studied. In addn., the
kinetic anal. and possible degrdn. pathways were also discussed. The results i
ndicated that the removal efficiency of BDE209 was 80.9?% after two hours by opt
imizing the expt. conditions (pH =1, m(Fe)?/m(C)?=1:1, m(Fe)?=4.5 g, f(H2O2)?=6
mL?/L)?. The degrdn. of BDE209 followed the pseudo-?order kinetics, which could
be described by the formula: -?ln(??/?0)?= 0.0040 min-?1 t+1.0337, and the remo
val rate const. k was 0.9471. The main process of debromination was realized by
hydroxyl radical attacking carbon-?bromine bond.
