1. Stretto in diminution. Compose a fugue subject in Bb major, 3 measures in length in one voice that will work in stretto. (The subject should cadence on the
downbeat of measure 4.) Use half-, quarter-, and eighth-notes only. The second voice should enter by the downbeat of m. 3 with note values halved from the original
subject. Demonstrate how the stretto works by writing the subject out in the second voice.
